Teletubbies

Teletubbies is a show which is monstrously popular in Great Britain, and which is currently being shown in the US by the friendly folks at PBS (Public Broadcasting Service).

This show is geared towards extremely small children, and features four humanoid creatures with the names of Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa, and Po. These characters have television screens in their stomachs. Beyond this I can't say much; I watched an entire episode and it defies description.

Warning If you take drugs, do not watch Teletubbies. If you do not take drugs, you can get a fairly good idea of what hallucinogens must be like by watching this show.

The show is well written (given the intellectual capacity of its target audience) and has its own naive charm, but at some level it scares the hell out of me to know that children less than one year old are getting hooked on the idiot box.

Speaking of scaring the hell out of me...

Randall Terry

Yes, Randall Terry, the man who brought you the anti-abortion group "Operation Rescue" is at it again; he's running for United States Representative from the state of New York.

See some quotable quotes at this site and tell me if you think this guy represents mainstream America.
