Final Election Thoughts

May as well start with the big news. It's finally over. George W. Bush won. For all of those of you who are still griping about how it was resolved, I can only say enough, already! It's over. The State of Florida says it's over. The Supreme Court of the United States says it's over. Even Al Gore says it's over. If you want to spin conspiracy theories, great. Go join the “black helicopter” guys in the extreme right. And by the way, stop blaming Ralph Nader. If Gore had carried his own home state, this wouldn't even be an issue.

If you're really unhappy about the outcome, then start working on the following:

As for me, personally, I'm not thrilled with the outcome. I don't think President-Elect Bush is going to be a great blessing to the country, but he's not the demon some folks are making him out to be, either. So far I like his appointments of Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell, but I'm not thrilled with John Ashcroft as Attorney General. It looks like we'll all have to stay tuned and see what happens.

Remember the article about XSLT that I mentioned a few weeks ago? It's been published. If you're a web designer, you might find it informative.

Looks like we've come to the end of another year. Thank you all for reading the column. I hope you had a good year, and remember: Let me know what you think.
