SCVWA 2009 State Duals Team

In the Association Duals State Championships, the 2009 edition of Santa Clara Valley Wrestling Associations Junior dual team was packed with young wrestlers. Even with only four seniors on the squad, as a team they performed well. Every wrestler had the opportunity to get on the mat and score points for the team.

Led by Coach Dixon, Coach Luna and Coach Val, the team showed signs of promise for the future while still doing their best among a very tough and competitive field. In Greco Roman, the team finished in a solid 7th place, while on the Freestyle side they erased an 18 point deficit in the finals match to place 9th over all.

On behalf of SCVWA, the coaching staff, and the wrestlers, we would like to thank the parents and families who made the trip in support of the team. We hope that this is a sign of things to come as we gain more and more support for this prestigious event.

A special thank you goes out to Laurie Dixon, who took so much time and effort in organizing accommodations for the wrestlers and coaching staff.
